I created this layout for the December journaling challenge at the Lilypad. I absolutely love challenges for getting my creativity moving.
The challenge here was to embrace and share the positive side of your experience with 2020 in 50 words or more.
It is an pretty much universal fact that 2020 has been a hard year. There have been so many challenges and a lot of sadness. I’ve felt that myself.
I do believe that there is so much benefit in finding the positive side of every situation.
For our family, 2020 has been a time unlike any other. As a military family, we’ve been separated from one another often. We’ve spent years separated because of deployments and there have been separations because of training and other travel on top of that.
A positive of this year is that we’ve had more time together as a family that we have ever had. My husband has been working from home since March and it that has been a blessing that we don’t take for granted for a second!
This is what I focused my journaling on in this layout.
I used the drawing of a face instead of a photo. That’s a great way to do a layout that is focused more on journaling that a photo. I placed that in a frame with a textured solid colored paper.
For the title of this layout, I used alphas to form “2020” and added a drop shadow.
I made the journaling a prominent feature of the layout by using a typewriter font and placing it to the left of the element cluster and directly above the background paper.
